I savored her ebook one morning while sipping some coffee and didn't want it to end. I love how she weaves in her faith throughout her essays in such a heartwarming way. While reading this, one can easily feel her gift of hospitality, her welcoming spirit, and her love for people. Now, I can't wait to try her maple spiced pecan recipe and all the others! The perspective she shares is steeped in wisdom and evidence of her continually growing walk with God. Having a recipe correlate with each essay is so nice, as well, because it causes you to think back on the bits of truth gleaned as you prepare the dish. For me, it’s the maple sugar pecans... (now a family favorite!) but also, a reminder of the joy that comes from contentment found in a sovereign God. Thank you, Cynthia, for another beautiful collection. This is the first book I've been able to read start to finish in one day for many years. The pacing carried me along and made me want to keep reading. (I've been debating about making this next comment - but I know the story behind the sudden unemployment. I want to shout it out - it was WRONG -what happened, how it happened, and the number of people hurt by it.) Only God can take a deep pain like that and turn it into something for good.
